Digital assets, while still fairly new, have been around for quite some time now. Insider trading, while somewhat common on Wall Street, is very uncommon in the blockchain world. While different types of scams plague this industry, insider trading is not one of them. In fact, when the FBI arrested Nathaniel Chastain, a former executive at OpenSea, he became the first to be arrested for alleged NFT insider trading. Sources say that Chastain used his knowledge of what NFTs would be featured on their front page and buy and resell the NFTs for up to five times what he purchased them for. It will be interesting to see how this case unfolds as it is the first of its kind. A precedent will be set on the cans and can nots in the digital asset space.
